During his life time, David researched the history of several Decatur and Henderson County families. His research provides important basic research on the history of families that now live or have lived in these two counties. Blount, member of the 54th General Assembly, represented Decatur and Benton Counties. . . . He attended Decatur County schools, studied law and practiced in Decaturville. He began his career as a merchant and farmer, was sheriff of the county six years, elected road supervisor and election commissioner, and served as county judge."    5. Elias Blount. Born, 1 Dec 1899, in Decatur Co., TN. Died, 3 Apr 1960, in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN. Burial in City Cem., Decaturville, Decatur Co., TN. He married Alpha Jackson, daughter of Gilbert Franklin (Bud) Jackson and Magnolia (Maggie) Harrington. Elias Blount was an invalid for 40 years after having been injured while serving in the navy. He died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville. A military marker used as a footstone on his grave reads "Tennessee Pvt HA2 US Navy World War I."
   6. Orville J. (Sug) Blount.
