2.  ZACKARY TAYLOR2 YOUNG (JOHN1) was born December 02, 1848 in Decatur Co., TN, and died October 22, 1932 in Decatur Co., TN.  He married (1) SUSAN TAYLOR January 19, 1873 in Decatur Co., TN, daughter of THOMAS TAYLOR and REBECKAH POWERS.  She was born Abt. 1843, and died Abt. 1881 in Decatur Co., TN.  He married (2) MARY ELIZABETH L. October 23, 1881 in Decatur Co., TN.  She was born March 06, 1850, and died in Decatur Co., TN.

Notes for ZACKARY TAYLOR YOUNG:
Everyone called him Uncle Zack.  According to an interview with Tom Young on December , 1976;
Zack Young lived close enough to him to "Holler" at each other. Uncle Zack was a farmer.  He owned one old mule and he would have to make sounds with his mouth before he could get the old mule started.  He was the superintendent in the Methodist Church at Mt Lebanon.  There wasn't a church in the Utah Community at that time.  Sometimes there was preaching at the Utah Community Schoolhouse.
Uncle Zack was the superintendent of the Sunday School at the Schoolhouse.  He and his second  wife, Mary E. L. Odle whom all called Aunt Sis, like to play cards.  They often played "Long Nine" and "7-UP." 
MY Dad's (C.O. Young , Jr.) memories of Uncle Zack and Aunt Sis start about the age of four where he remembers going to their little house located upon the upper end of the Utah Community .  The winter that my father was four years old Uncle Zack and Aunt Sis lived in the house with his parents and he.
This home was located about two miles outside of Perryville on the road to Decaturville.  My grandmother referred to the place as the Cedar Glade.

My grandfather referred to himself as a "salt of the earth" person.  He was a farmer, minister of the gospel, school bus driver, well driller and a self educated man.   He was a serious minded person and took a lot of teasing from his younger brother, Coy & Ulyess who always were pulling jokes on him.  My grandmother who also liked to have a laugh told me about one Christmas when Ulyess and Coy put some spirits in the punch and  Cecil unknownly was enjoying the punch until he discovered what was in it and got very upset and they had a good laugh on him.  He organized the Utah Baptist Church and was the first pastor.  The church was located on land across the hollow from the homeplace of Zack Young.

Mamie was my best friend.  I knew she loved me no matter what.  She loved to laugh and did so even up until her last few days on this earth.  She loved to have company and would get in the kitchen and cook up a feast using every pot and pan in the house.  She could make some of the best "Baptist pallets" one ever slept on.  She cooked the best chocolate pudding and peach cobbler one could ever eat.  I can see her now getting ready to head out to the cotton patch with her straw hat, dress, cotton stockings & long sleeve shirt.  How she didn't burn up I will never know but she was not going to get her skin tanned.  I miss her!
