Joseph PEARCE OR PIERCE was born about 1794 in Anson Co, NC.  Joseph and his family migrated to Henderson Co, TN sometime before the birth of son Joel in May of 1836.  Among the many from Anson Co who moved to Henderson Co with Joseph were brother-in-law Joseph Smith and his family.  Joseph died between 1838 and 1840 in Henderson Co, TN.  Son Amon would recount later that they used the same wagon that the family had used on their migration to take Joseph’s body to the cemetery.
