E. B. Davidson and J. Blackfan to J. P. Rushing
This indenture made this the 15th day of January in the year of our Lord 1817 between Ephriam B. Davidson and Jesse Blackfan of Stewart County and state of Tennessee of the one part and John Peter Rushing of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth:
That the said Ephriam B. Davidson and Jesse Blackfan for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Thirty Seven Dollars to them in hand paid by the said John Peter Rushing the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed unto the said John Peter Rushing heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Stewart and state of Tennessee granted to the said Ephriam B. Davidson and Jessee Blackfan by Patent No. 9330 lying on the east side of Tennessee River and bounded as follows, to wit:
Beginning on a white oak, elm on the west bank of the fork of the first creek above the Kentucky line, running thence east 148 poles to two hickories, thence south 180 1/9 poles to a postoak, thence west 148 poles to a large whiteoak, thence north 108 1/9 poles to the beginning, including Peter Rushing's improvements
To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Peter Rushing his heirs and assigns forever And that Ephriam B. Davidson and Jessee Blackfan for themselves their heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and agree with the said John Peter Rushing his heirs or assigns that the before recited land and bargained premises they will warrant and forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every person whatsoever.
In witness whereof the said Ephriam B. Davidson and Jesse Blackfan have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written
