Betty McClain Whitfield was born on August 16, 1943 in Decaturville, Tenn., to Carl & Georgia McClain. She was the fourth of five children. She attended the Decatur County Public School System. Betty accepted Christ at an early age, as an adult she rededicated her life to Christ. She was a member of The Original Harvest Missionary Baptist Church until her death. Betty was truly a person you could call on night or day. She always put others before herself. She cherished her children and grandchildren dearly. People that really knew her loved her, and to know her was to love her.

Betty led an active life, she loved to travel, and play video games with her grandchildren. She was employed by The City of Cleveland Public Water Dept, for over fifteen years, and where she had many friends. Betty loved the Lord and demonstrated it through her kindness and generosity to others.
