The following flyer is for a 1946 rally that was held to celebrate the restoration of a high school program at Decatur County Training School. High school classes had been suspended during World War II, partially due to a shortage of teachers. Between 1944 and 1946 black students in Decatur County wishing to continue high school had to attend Montgomery High (Lexington) or Merry High (Jackson) as boarding students. Of particular interest in this flyer is the list of the six negro elementary schools and their teacher/principals.
