J. W. C. (John William Columbus) Gibson almost always went by his initials. He and his family were living near Farmsville (aka Bucksnort) when displaced by the park. The family moved to the Garrett Community of Decatur County, near Decaturville. J. W. C. Gibson and wife Ila Haywood Gibson are buried in New Hope Cemetery near Yuma in Carroll County.
